Though four-masted schooners no longer slide down our ways as they did during the 19th and early 20th centuries, Boothbay Harbor Shipyard has two high-capacity marine railways for commercial vessels and private yachts up to 200 . The 700-ton railway has serviced tall ships, tugboats, service vessels and fishing trawlers. Work has included U.S. Navy and other government contracts to repair Coast Guard ships, passenger boats and ferries. The 150-ton railway has accommodated many private sailing yachts, workboats, schooners and motor vessels. Conveniently located and easily approached, the railways are available for launching or hauling vessels for storage or transportation.

The machine shop offers fiberglass repair, welding, pipefitting and all aspects of metal fabrication. The carpenter shop is adjacent to the railways and allows for quick and efficient repairs by expert joiners. Dockage and moorings are available
