SCHOONER ERNESTINA Built: 1894 Builder: James & Tarr Yard, Essex, MA LOA: 156The official vessel of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Ernestina, ex-Effie M. Morrissey is a National Historic Landmark. Originally a fishing vessel at the Grand Banks, the Ernestina has ventured to Greenland and to the Arctic, 600 miles from the North Pole. In 1986, the Ernestina began her career as a sailing school ship, living history museum, and cultural ambassador. After arriving in June at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard, the Ernestina began a three-month restoration period. The ship will undergo work to the bow and will return for two other yard periods for work to the midship and stern as funds are acquired.

BELLE AVENTURE Built: 1929 in Scotland Designer: William Fife & Sons Builder: William Fife & Sons LOA: 85'This classic spent a Maine winter having her hull and support systems reviewed and upgraded. CHEROKEE Built: 2008 Designer: Olin Stephen at Sparkman and Stephens.Inc Builder: Team at Museum of Yachting LOA: 6 metersThe CHEROKEE is being built by a team led by Boothbay Harbor's Yacht Designer and general manager, David Stimson. David is the general manager of the team at Museum of Yachting. It is part of an exhibit of Sparkman and Stephens Inc . On Long Island Sound, in the 1930's, one very popular yacht was the 6-meter racing yacht. Sparkman and Stephens, Inc (S&S) designed 39 of these yachts. HARVEY GAMAGE Built: 1973 Builder: Harvey F. Gamage on the Damariscotta River LOA: 135"In December of 1993, Harvey Gamage was purchased by a non-profit educational organization in Bath, Maine that evolved into the Ocean Classroom Foundation (OCF) of today. Harvey Gamage is now devoted exclusively to sea education programming, while still following her traditional route between New England and the Caribbean. For more details see the Shipyard Log.
